How Black Pastel is inherited
Black Pastel is co-dominant: one copy produces a visual Black Pastel, and two copies produce the Super Black Pastel. Breeding a Black Pastel to a normal gives about 50% Black Pastel babies.
New to these terms? See the genetics glossary.
Black Pastel is allelic with Cinnamon: they sit at the same spot on the chromosome, so an animal can carry at most two of them, and pairing them produces combination morphs.
Commonly treated as allelic with Cinnamon.
Health notes
⚠️ Supers are prone to kinks and a "duckbill" head shape.
