How Ultra is inherited

Ultra is recessive: a corn snake needs two copies to show it. Animals with one copy look normal but are "het Ultra" and pass the gene to about half their babies.

Ultra is allelic with Amelanistic: they sit at the same spot on the chromosome, so an animal can carry at most two of them, and pairing them produces combination morphs.

Allelic to Amelanistic; Ultra x Amel gives Ultramel.
